Long Island 5k | Team Land Whales - 05/02/09

May 17th, 2009

Today was an exciting day. A group of us got together and participating in the Long Island 5k race and raised over $10,000 for the benefit of three families who recently lost loved ones. It was great to be there for all those who ran and cheer them on.  As in the past at other events similar to this I happily bowed out of participating to head up the photo-taking for the day.

Here are the T-shirts I had made for all the participants and friends who were there to support the runners. I designed the logo myself and came up with the acronym with the help of my brother. L.A.N.D  W.H.A.L.E.S = Large Athletes in Need of Defibrillation We Have A Little Emergency…Seriously

Here is the winner of the race. He was a 20 year old who finished in 17+ mins

This guy was amazing. They announced at the beginning of the race that he finished the IRON MAN @ Lake Placid last year. I also heard that during the race his leg had fallen off, went back, got it and still finished in 2nd place.

Chris likes to finish races like these at full speed. Needless to say it is hysterical seeing him run to the finish.

David Gould’s Bar Mitzvah - 04/04/09

April 4th, 2009

This weekend we had the opportunity to join David Gould at his Bar Mitzvah and what a lovely day it turned out to be.  First thing in the morning we met David at Temple Sinai in Summit NJ to take some portraits of him and the family before his big ceremony.

Later on that afternoon we met up with him at The Grand Summit Hotel in Summit for the party.  What a blast it turned out to be.  With games and gambling to the tunes of Unique Musique and their of crew of dancers keeping the dance floor alive the whole time.

David and his family were a delight to work with and we can’t wait to meet up again with them to discuss their Coffee Table books.

Colorado Ski Trip - 01/05/09

January 9th, 2009

Just got back today from an awesome ski trip in Keystone, Colorado. With elven of us in total it was bound to be a good time. We met up with my brother who flew in from Florida and headed to “dollar” rental car. I use those quotation marks because the cost of an upgrade was so far from a dollar. Lets just say to upgrade both cars to a bigger SUV would have cost more than the whole trip did all together PER DAY!! So we politely declined and jammed all our luggage into a jeep and H3 hummer.

We were successful in getting the luggage in the cars and began our journey to Keystone. The drive was really fun going through the winding mountain roads.

We relaxed for the rest of the afternoon and prepared for the big first day of skiing the following day. We did a few runs before I took out the camera on the lift and started taking some pics of my brother, who has become my favorite model. He’s always willing to be the subject of my shots. :D My hands were getting numb when taking these shots on the lift and I forgot to attach my neck strap which made me anxious about dropping the camera.

This one was a tough shot to get because I had to turn around on the lift. I just twisted my torso around and hung over the back of the chair. I gave my self a pretty nasty back cramp performing this move :(

On our last run we took our time going down so I could take some more shots.
