Usually at this time of year it’s cold and grey outside, but for Oksana and Chris’s e-shoot we had a beautiful day to take advantage of. Oksana and Chris were a joy to work with- mostly because they are so comfortable in front of the camera (always a plus for the photographer)! Chris is stationed in Florida but flew all the way up to see his fiancee so we could all snap some pictures together.

Our latest engagement session features Laci & Jon, a super fun couple who are to be wed this coming June. Our shoot took place in Piermont, NY. Jon grew up nearby and he and Laci frequently visited this charming town square. The beautiful fall day was a perfect compliment to the love that they have for each other. It was such a blast working with them and we are super excited for their wedding in June!

Special thanks to Piermont Fine Arts Gallery who allowed us to grab a shot in their studio which showcased some incredible recycled cardboard artwork. Check out their website!

Nathalie & Jason’s Wedding! | Reflections Photography- Bridgewater, NJ

Nathalie and Jason had an amazing wedding: beautiful bride, touching service, and a rockin’ reception. But the most amazing thing about their wedding day was the amount of positive energy that surrounded the happy couple throughout the entire day. We started out at the Bridgewater Marriott in Bridgewater, New Jersey, where the hustle and bustle of loved ones primping and grooming caused Nathalie to have an entire hotel room set aside just for the safekeeping of her dress! Jason, the excited groom, was getting ready just a few doors down, so we had to run interference while trying to get pictures of the bride and groom before the big reveal at the church.

Mount Saint Mary Academy church was the setting of their wedding ceremony. We were able to steal away with the Mr. and Mrs. shortly after the ceremony and have quick photo session behind the church. The intimate moments between the bride and groom are always a high point of the day for us! The energy train kept rolling to the last stop of the day: Bridgewater Manor, where an incredible cocktail hour kicked off a full-blown celebration of Nathalie and Jason’s love. The dance floor was packed all night, and the quality of the dancing was incredible! We had a great time photographing this wedding and wish Nathalie and Jason nothing but a life of happiness. Congrats!

Melanie & Dave’s Wedding! | Reflections Photography- Hastings-on-Hudson, NY

Melanie and Dave had an absolutely beautiful wedding day, I feel lucky to have been there to witness it all. We started out bright and early at Melanie’s parents house, where we found a bride who was calm, cool, collected, and coiffed! While the girls were getting fabulous, I met Dave at the Tarrytown Sheraton to take some groom shots. I always knew that New York has a lot of amazing venues to offer, but I was really blown away by the Harvest on Hudson. The outdoor ceremony was beautiful, and the reception was rockin’ with lots of dancing and celebrating for this exceptional couple. Michael and I wish you nothing but the best Melanie and Dave!

Happy first day of summer everyone! Our most recent e-shoot took place somewhere that has gained a somewhat tarnished reputation in the past year, the Jersey Shore. We’ve done e-shoots there in the past, but during the middle of winter when the place is deserted. Most recently we experienced Seaside Heights with some great company: Justine and Dan, our betrothed couple, and a fellow wedding photographer, Jamison Wexler. Underneath the boardwalk was the perfect place to avoid the crowds and grab some intimate pictures. Kudos to Justine and Dan for risking getting wet for these pictures! Later on we had a great time in the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk, rides, and games that have become a tradition for Justine and Dan. Watching them play skee-ball (their favorite!) was a great opportunity to see the couple get silly and enjoy each other. Congratulations Justine and Dan!

Jen & Scott’s Newlywed Session! | Reflections Photography- Jersey City, NJ/Bronx, NY

Jen and Scott are a really adventurous couple, so we were pretty stoked to have a post-wedding shoot with them. Scott happens to be really into urban photography, and had the perfect place in mind to capture their newlywed glow. We started in Jersey City, and moved over to a metal scrap yard in the Bronx. The gritty textures and metro landscapes were right up our alley (pun intended)- a great spot to capture all of the emotions and beauty of a fantastic couple. Congratulations Jen and Scott!
