February 14th, 2010 – Lazy Day & Walking + Rental Car Woes
Today I slept pretty late into the morning, Danielle on the other hand was still on NY time. She was up at 4:30am SD time, which gave her about 4 1/2 hours of sleep. We did pretty much nothing all morning [ ], sat in bed, watched The Truman Show, then Danielle started whining about being hungry. I succumbed to it… we went downstairs to grab some food. We sat in “SWIM”, the poolside bar/restaurant, and enjoyed a nice little lunch together.
Neither of us have ever been in charge of making plans for vacation, so we were a little out of our element of just doing as we are told. Once we were all fed and happy (and got our DC fix) we decided to take a walk together. We just walked and walked: along the water, past the docks, across the highway and all the way to Sea World. It was really relaxing and the weather was perfect, for me at least, Danielle was a little cold from the wind.
After our walk we stopped back at the Hotel to re-coup and relax. Then we ran out to Ralphs, the local supermarket, to stock up on some supplies for the room. Once we grabbed a bunch of snacks, we headed back to the rental car place to return the car. Shortly after arriving at the hotel, I read the receipt and all the charges, and realized it is going to cost almost $700. We drove over there, walked in, walked out, and drove back to the hotel. Apparently I’m obligated to keep the car for 99hrs, so I might as well keep the damn thing. The Suzuki will be joining us for a few more days now! We spent the rest of the night in the room watching TV and falling asleep at 8pm SD time. We’re really livin’ it up out here!!
