This past friday I was able to go out and shoot a band local to me, in Astoria, NY. Three Mike’s and a Jon combine to form the band Hollis Browne, a “post grunge blues-pop” band. Their sound, in my opinion is great. We drove out to a sketchy railroad station near Alpine NJ where we took most of the photos. I was able to get to know them all a little better and learn more about their band.
As the sun began to set we made our way back to Astoria, NY and to their studio. I am not exaggerating when I say I can almost reach my arms out and touch both ends of the wall (I’m 6’5″). Regardless of the small size of the room, it was more cramped with great music than 4 musicians, instruments and a photographer. This was my favorite part of the shoot because I was able to have a private showing of their talent. I left that night very excited about seeing my photos, but more excited about being able to listen to the free CD I got!!!!!!!
And one bonus shot from a small follow up shoot with them!
