03/13/2010 – Lisa and Rick’s Wedding

Well where to start with this wedding…I guess we can start with the weather. It was absolutely insane, what would later be referred to as the Monsoon of 2010. Even though the weather was a bit rough and wet we were still excited that our first couple of the season were getting married and the weather wasn’t going to hold them back. After arriving at the house that Lisa was getting ready, we found her excited and not really nervous which was amazing. We grabbed a lot of great pictures there then headed over to where Rick was getting ready. Another stoic and very excited one, we knew we were in for a treat.

After all the getting ready pictures were finished we headed over to the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Pompton Lakes. It was a beautiful ceremony that made the Deacon even choke up a little while he was reciting the vows for Lisa and Rick. After the church everyone boarded and party bus(yes they love to party) and headed over to The Graycliff in Moonachie. With the sounds of Gemini DJ’s pumping out sounds for everyone, the party went well into the night mimicing the power of the storm.

It was a fantastic wedding that we were proud to be a part of and may Rick and Lisa have many happy years together.

Donielle & Kyle – 02/27/10

We’re going to the Jersey Shore…

I’d like to preface this post with a little tid-bit about the jersey shore: It is really cool to go there in the winter.

It was a really early morning for me today. I got up at 5am to get all my things together to be prepared for my 1 hour 45 min trip to South Jersey. I got there early because the only familiarity I had with the Jersey Shore was what I saw on MTV. Unfortunately I wasn’t going to be taking any pictures at the Beachcomber Bar & Grill (where Snooki got punched) so I needed to get there early to take a look around. From the minute I got out of the car I was excited. The whole shore was pretty much desolate with no one in sight. I knew it would be an awesome place to take photos and it really was. If you are looking for a great place to go on a romantic walk with nobody around then go to the Jersey Shore in the winter…but bring gloves cause its COLD!

I got a little bit scared when I made my way to pick up Donielle & Kyle because it started to snow pretty heavily and it was getting wet outside fast. Thankfully by the time we made it to the shore the snow had settled down and actually made for some awesome photos. Donielle & Kyle are an awesome couple. It was so much fun working together with them and I cannot wait for their wedding down in Florida on October 10th!!!

Our Honeymoon- The Final Day (#7)

February 19th 2010- Checkout, Feed some Sea Lions & our Homecoming

Today is the last day of our beloved honeymoon. It truly flew by. I’m sitting here in the SD commuter airport 2 hours before our flight taking full advantage of the free WiFi!!! ((Dani & I look like two Mac computer snobs side by side right now, me with wires coming out the rear end with my camera downloading the pictures and a Dani surfin’ Facebook)). As much fun as we had on this trip we are both very excited to be coming back home. Looking back at this week on the calendar I thought it was going to be such a long trip. What were we going to do all by ourselves for 7 days, apart from… :-) Well we found plenty of fun things to do and the time FLEW by.

Let’s get down to business though. This morning we both woke up and had breakfast in bed for I think the 5th day out of the whole trip. Dani called the front desk to ask about the checkout time. They said: “You need to be out by 11″. So she asked if we could have a later checkout because our flight is only at 7pm. They said: “Ok. You need to be out by 12″. Nice. We used every last minute of extra time they offered. With our bags all packed we stopped by the concierge to drop them off and buy some Sea World tickets.

On our first day of the trip when we went for our walk we accidentally walked right to Sea World so we followed the same route today to get there. At the gate to enter we handed our tickets over and had our finger prints scanned…seriously. Can’t be too cautious with those crazy sea animal lovers out there. Once we got in we walked over to some sea lions that you were able to feed if you wanted. Of course you’re not going to go to Sea World and not feed a sea lion. So we splurged and bought some fishies for the sea lions and started tossin’. We got 5 fish. Dani threw four of them, two of which were stolen by the damn birds. Apart from having nasty fish smell all over you it was fun to feed the little guys. From there we went from the Manatee to the Sharks to the Penguins to Shampoo. “Shampoo the Killer Whale.” (I know its spelled/pronounced “Shamu”. If you were clued in though you would know I’m quoting the movie “Snow Day”.)  To be honest, the showing was kind of weak. The whale did some flips, splashed a few people and he got some treats for it. They mixed in some cheesy thing about having a dream and going for it, which was really motivating for Dani & I. The show ended uneventfully and all the happy guests piled out. Dani & I hung back so we wouldn’t have to push through all the over-excited people. During the show after one of the whales did a flip an excited on-looker tossed her bag of popcorn on the floor right in front of us. So now while Dani & I waited a ton of seagulls came gullin’& hootin’ (;-)) in to attack the unsuspecting popcorn. I caught the massacre on video and submitted the footage to the police as evidence. Stupid birds are going away for a long time.

That was about all the sea creatures Dani & I could handle for the day so we made our way back to the hotel. The walk was a lot of fun and Dani gave me the run down of the entire Twilight series and how it all pans out. I love the way she tells stories of things she is really interested in. The rundown lasted the whole walk back to the hotel. We decided that we would finish the trip the same place we started; at SWIM. We sat in the same seats and just relaxed for a few minutes before getting a cab to the airport. Now we’re here, as I mentioned, waiting for our plane and waiting to get back home.

Our trip was a blast and we’d just like to thank Megan especially for giving us a great wedding gift, which we made good use of on our Honeymoon.
